Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and NextTierEdu, which is run by Unclejet Innovations (“we”, “us”). By registering or using the site you accept them. If you are registering a child, you accept them on the child's behalf.
1. What NextTierEdu is
NextTierEdu is a marketplace for video lessons and e-books for Basic, Senior High and Tertiary. Teachers and lecturers record and upload the material; we review it before it is published, host it, take payment for it and pay the teacher their share. The teacher who made a lesson or book is responsible for what it teaches.
2. Accounts
- Give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- An account is for one person. Parents create a separate login for each child from their own account, and are responsible for how those logins are used.
- Students under 18 should register with the permission of a parent or guardian, or be added by one.
3. Buying lessons and books
- Each teacher sets the price of their own work inside limits we set. The price is shown before you pay.
- You unlock a lesson topic as a whole. When you pay you choose how long it stays open; longer access costs more. When the time runs out, the topic locks again.
- A book you buy stays readable for as long as your account is open.
- Government taxes and the payment fee are added to the price when you pay, as Ghanaian law requires. The total is shown before you confirm.
- Payments are handled by Paystack. We never see or keep your card number or mobile money PIN.
- What you buy is for the student it was bought for. Sharing a login so that others can use a purchase is not allowed.
4. Refunds
Write to us within 7 days of paying if:
- you paid but the lesson or book did not unlock or would not play, and we cannot fix it for you; or
- you were charged more than once for the same thing; or
- the lesson or book was removed from the site for breaking these terms while your access was still running.
In those cases we refund the amount you paid, to the account you paid from. Otherwise, because a lesson or book can be used as soon as it is unlocked, we don't refund a purchase once it has been opened. Nothing here takes away any right you have under Ghanaian consumer law.
5. What you may do with lessons and books
- Watch and read them for your own study, or your child's.
- Do not download, record, screenshot, copy, share, resell or publish them anywhere else, or try to get around the protections that stop this.
- Every video and page carries the teacher's name. We may close accounts used to copy or pass on teachers' work.
6. Rules for everyone
- Ratings, notes and reports must be honest. Don't use them to mislead, threaten or harass anyone.
- Don't try to manipulate purchases, ratings, views, referrals or payouts.
- Don't upload anything illegal, abusive, hateful or sexually explicit, or anything that is not suitable for school children.
- Don't try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site.
7. Extra terms for students and parents
By registering as a Student/Learner, you agree to the following:
- Accurate Information. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Account Security. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activities carried out through your account.
- Payments. You agree to pay the stated price for paid educational materials before accessing them.
- Reviews and Ratings. Reviews and ratings must be honest and must not be used to deliberately mislead, threaten, or harm another user.
8. Extra terms for teachers
By registering as a Teacher, you agree to the following:
- Accurate Information. You agree to provide correct and accurate information about yourself, including the social media usernames you submit, and to keep your account information up to date.
- Original Lesson Videos and Books. You must only upload videos, textbooks, notes, quizzes, and other materials that you own or have permission to use.
- Quality of Content. You agree to provide educational content that is reasonably accurate, useful, and appropriate for the learners you intend to serve.
- GES Syllabus. Every teaching video and book you upload must follow the Ghana Education Service (GES) syllabus for the class and subject it is uploaded under.
- Copyright. You must not upload or sell copyrighted materials belonging to another person, school, publisher, or organization without proper authorization.
- Appropriate Content. Content must not contain illegal, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, fraudulent, or intentionally harmful material.
- Pricing. You are responsible for setting appropriate prices for your paid content. Any applicable platform fees or payment charges will be communicated to you.
- Teacher Earnings. Earnings from your content will be handled according to the platform's payment and payout policy.
- Payout Schedule. Payouts are made once a month, around the middle of the month, whatever amount you have earned.
- Withdrawal Fees. The platform fee on withdrawals is at most 10%. Teachers with good ratings can have their fee reduced, to as low as 1%.
- Content Removal. The admin reserves the right to take down any uploaded video or book that violates these terms or the platform's rules, infringes copyright, contains misleading information, or is otherwise unsuitable for the platform.
- Account Security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and all activities performed through your account.
- No Fraud. You must not manipulate purchases, reviews, views, ratings, downloads, referrals, or any other platform feature, or otherwise try to cheat the system.
- Intellectual Property. You retain ownership of your original lessons unless you separately agree otherwise. By uploading, you grant the platform permission to host, display, distribute, and promote it as necessary to provide the service.
- Account Suspension. The admin reserves the right to suspend or close an account where the platform's rules are broken, and for serious or repeated violations of these terms.
- Responsibility for Content. You are responsible for the educational lessons you publish and any claims made within it.
Approval
You can upload only after we approve your application, and only for the classes and subjects we approved. Every lesson and book is reviewed before it is published, and again after every change. We may refuse or remove material without paying for it if it breaks these terms.
Earnings and payouts
- You keep at least 50% of the price of each sale of your work. Your share is credited to your balance when the buyer's payment is confirmed. Taxes collected from the buyer are not part of the price you share.
- Once the admin has verified that you follow NextTierEdu on social media, commented on the pinned post and shared it, you earn an extra 5% on every sale from then on.
- Payouts are made once a month, around the middle of the month. We send them by mobile money to the name and number you give, and record the reference. The smallest payout is GHS 50.00.
- A platform fee of no more than 10% is taken from each payout, and you see it before you confirm. Teachers with good ratings can have their fee reduced, to as little as 1%.
- If a sale is refunded or reversed, its share is taken back from your balance.
- You are responsible for any tax due on your own earnings.
9. Suspending or closing an account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. If you are a teacher whose work has been bought, your account is closed and your name removed, but the lessons and books students have paid for, and the sales records, are kept.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, starting with a warning where the problem is minor. If we close an account for a serious or repeated breach, unused access is not refunded and a teacher's unpaid balance may be withheld while we look into it.
10. Our responsibility to you
- We work to keep the site running and the material accurate, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or that every lesson is free of mistakes. If a lesson is wrong, report it from its page and we will take it up with the teacher.
- We are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen, or that come from things outside our control, such as network or power outages.
- Where we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, except where the law does not allow that limit.
11. Changes to these terms
We will post any change here with a new date at the top. If a change affects what you have already paid for, or a teacher's share, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana decide any dispute about them.
